Project description
United Robots Sp. z o.o. carried out the project “Creating a prototype autonomous platform operating in a production environment” from 1 October 2017 to 31 January 2023. The project was financed by European Union funds under the Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014–2020, Measure 1.1 “R&D projects of enterprises”, Sub-measure 1.1.1 “Industrial research and development work carried out by enterprises”.
Project results
As part of the project, United Robots developed an advanced robot capable of moving autonomously within a designated area, performing the tasks required to keep a production environment clean and exchanging information with other devices responsible for facility cleanliness.
The robot moves independently while taking account of the conditions and surroundings in which it operates. Its task is to remove contaminants from large spaces.
The device uses SLAM and Machine Learning algorithms. It can navigate a room without human assistance and perform work related to maintaining cleanliness and quality in a designated area more efficiently.
Maintaining cleanliness in manufacturing facilities is very important, but also challenging because of safety requirements and the high standards set by occupational health and safety rules. Continuous monitoring of hygienic conditions in the production environment is one of the most important elements of finished-product quality control, and also entails high maintenance costs.
